What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- What you type into our forms: website submissions, audit requests, owner replies and newsletter signups. This can include your name, email, website and message.
- Your theme choice and your detective file (points, badges, game results), stored only in your own browser. We never see them.
- Anonymous counts of what happens on the site: which page was viewed and when a game was played. No cookies, no IP address, no visitor id.
- Daily Crime results (crimes found and time taken) and jury votes, stored without your name. A random id in your browser stops double votes.
Why
To review the websites you send, reply to your request, publish owner replies you allow us to publish, and send the newsletter you asked for. We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
Where it's stored
Form data is stored with our database provider, Supabase. The website is hosted by Netlify. Both process data on our behalf.
How long
Submissions and requests are kept while they're useful, and deleted on request. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show, correct or delete what we hold about you. Use the private audit form or reply to any email from us and say what you'd like.
